질문1  무슬림으로 개종하는 것(배교)인 경우에도 (무슬림은) 성서를 인용하는데...

답변1 무슬림들은 성서를 믿지 않습니다. 저들은 성서의 가장 중요한 진리, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 천주성을 부인합니다! 그러니 저들이 성서를 인용한다고 저들을 믿을 수 있을까요?? 저들의 ‘코란’은 모순으로 가득 차 있는데, 예를 들어, 예수를 선지자로 인정하는 척하지만 그래도 예수님의 가르침을 믿지 않습니다. 우리는 저들의 회두를 위해 많이 기도해야할 필요가 있고, 저들의 종교가 얼마나 거짓된 것인 설명하는데 있어 두려워해서는 안 됩니다. (저들은 천주님이 전능하시다 하면서도 성자를 가질 수 없는 무능을 말합니다!) 성서는 오히려: “<아기 집을 째는 내가 아이를 못 낳게 하겠느뇨>라 야훼께서 말씀하시는 도다. <아이를 낳게 하는 내가 틀어 막겠느뇨>라 너의 천주께서 말씀하시는 도다.”(이사야66:9)

A Moslems do not believe the Bible; they deny the most important truth of the Bible, viz. the Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ! So how could one trust them to quote the Bible??? Their own “Koran” is full of contradiction (for instance, they pretend to approve Jesus and a Prophet, yet they do not believe what He taught!) We need to pray much for their conversion and not fear to explain to them how false their religion is (they claim that God is almighty, yet… impotent, unable to have a Son! The Scriptures rather say: “Shall not I that make others to bring forth children, myself bring forth, saith the Lord? shall I, that give generation to others, be barren, saith the Lord thy God?” Is. 66:9).

답변 2 “이슬람은 역사를 통하여 나쁜 가톨릭인들에 대한 천주님의 징벌이 되어 왔습니다. 그러나 신자들이 무릎을 꿇고, 진정으로 회개하고 기도하면, 천주님은 레판토 해전(10월7일 기념일. 레판토 해전으로 인해 로사리오 성모 축일은 승리의 성모라 불림)분명히 레판토 해전의 승리를 기념하기 위해 제정됨)처럼 경이로운 승리를 일으킵니다. 그러므로 진정으로 회개하고 기도하며 다른 이들을 그렇게 하도록 권고합시다!

우리 주 예수 그리스도가 그 구세주이심을 어찌 믿을 수 있으며, 그분의 천주성을 부인하면서 구원되기 생각할까요? 이건 불가능합니다. “나로 말미암지 아니코는 아무도 성부께 나오지 못하느니라.”(요왕14:6) 그 누구도 불가능합니다!

답변 “참 신앙, 우리 주 예수 그리스도 안에서 가톨릭 신앙을 위해 그가 치명하면, 그러면 그는 곧장 천국으로 갑니다. 그러나 치명(致命-순교)은 천주님의 선물인데 대개 이것을 주님께 충직했던 이들에게 주십니다. 열성과 충직성에 대한 생명의 ‘면류관’입니다. 나쁜 생활을 하면서 치명하려고 준비하면 안 됩니다.... 그러나 그리스도를 위해 자신의 생명을 줌으로써 나쁜 생활을 배상할 수 있습니다. 교훈이 있는데요. 치명을 하고자 한다면, 오늘부터 주님께 대한 열정으로 사시기 바랍니다.

Q  If a Catholic was compelled to convert to Islam, for example, on pain of death, and that person still refused to convert, will he go straight to heaven, if prior to this unfortunate encounter, he lived a sinful life?

A “If one dies a martyr for the true faith, the Catholic Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, then he will go straight to Heaven. But Martyrdom is a gift of God, which God usually gives to those who had been faithful to Him: it “crowns” a life of fervour and fidelity! One does not prepare oneself to martyrdom by a bad life… But one can make up for a bad life by giving one’s life for Christ. Lesson: if you want to die a martyr’s death, then start living a life of fervour from today!

질문 “쿠칭(Kuching)에 있는 성 베드로 신학교에서 저들이 무슨 훈련을 받았는지 저는 알지 못하겠어요. 저는 사제(그 당시에는 부제)에게 이슬람으로 개종하는 사람들에게 관해 그의 생각을 물어보았는데, 그가 대답하길, 그들이 이슬람교에서 신(천주)를 찾는다면, 그게 더 나은 거라고 합니다. 또 다른 사제는 이슬람으로 개종하는 자기 친구를 칭찬했는데 왜냐하면 그 친구가 신(천주?)를 믿는다면 그러면 ok라는 말하는 거예요”

답변 이와 같은 ‘개종’에 대해 유보해둘게 있습니다: 참으로 악마는 항상 어떤 이를 강력한 사슬로 묶을 수만 있다면 보다 낮은 죄로 가게끔 합니다. 제1 계명을 거스르는 죄는 4,5,6,7계명.. 등 여섯 개의 계명보다 더 비통한 죄입니다. 신앙을 거스르는 죄는 거의 대부분 회두를 막습니다. 이슬람은 아주 강력한 방법으로 수백만 영혼들을 우리 주 예수 그리스도로부터 멀어지게 하는 아주 강력한 사슬입니다. 끊기 어렵습니다. 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은총으로 가능하지만, 인간의 본성으로는 어렵고 특히 사회적 압력과 코란에 담겨 있는 위협으로 인해 어렵습니다. 그러므로 어떤 이가 이슬람의 구덩이에 빠지면, 이슬람의 발톱에 걸렸을 때 결코 기뻐해서는 안 됩니다. 비록 매년 많은 수의 개종하는 이슬람인들은 커다란 용기와 은총이 있는 것입니다. 우리 주님으로부터 멀어져간 모든 가엾은 영혼들의 개종을 위해서 기도해야 합니다. 저들이 죽기 전에 회두를 하지 않으면 결코 천국에 갈 수 없습니다!

I asked a priest (he was a deacon then) his thoughts about people converting to Islam and he said, well, if they find God there, then it is better. Also, another priest praised his friend for converting to Islam because he said as long as he believes in God, then it is ok.”

A I would be more reserved about such “conversion”: indeed the Devil is always willing to let go for lower sins if he can bind someone with a greater chain. Now sins against the first commandment are more grievous than six against the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th… A sin against faith almost prevents conversion back: Islam is a very hard chain that holds away from our Lord Jesus Christ millions of souls in a very strong way. It is difficult to break. It is possible by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it is hard for human nature, especially because of the social pressures and threats contained in the Koran. So one should NEVER rejoice when someone falls into the pit of Islam, into the claws of Islam – though there are each year a good number of Moslems who do convert, usually through great courage and graces. We must pray for the conversion of all those poor souls held away from our Lord: unless they convert before they die, they will never go to Heaven!
