Q  People in the internet say that Archbishop M. Lefebvre supported Franco(1930s) and Vichy(1940s) regime. Therefore, some people insisted that SSPX is a extreme group. These facts were true?

The ¡°establishment¡± (of which the best recent example is Hilary Clinton: typical of masonic lodges¡¯ guidelines) has maligned and wrongly represented some good governments, whether it was Franco, Petain, or the Catholic kings of the past, only looking at their defects and ignoring the good sides of them: for instance ALL the kings in France were descendants of St Louis for more than 500 years: this provides a marvellous stability of government – and hence PEACE – which is FAR, very far distancing all the multiple governments that have been in France in the past 220 years, with revolutions after revolutions, twice the government stealing all the Church¡¯s properties, expelling the religious, especially those teaching in Catholic schools, etc.

Franco saved his country from Communism: when you study the regime of Stalin – who was actually supporting the Spanish ¡°reds¡± against Franco – you realise who was really ¡°extreme¡±: Stalin is responsible for millions – nay tens of millions – of death in gulags, concentration camps etc. Franco had simply NONE, no single concentration camp at all in Spain. Now the ¡°establishment¡± does not forgive Franco for having saved his country from Communism, and for this reason heaps upon him all kinds of bad adjectives (such as ¡°extreme right¡±) which are not justified. Pope Pius XII said that the Concordat with Spain (i.e. with Franco) was the best the Church ever had. Franco consecrated his country to the Sacred Heart: he had made the vow that if Spain was spared from World War II, he would do so; by the grace of God, there was no fighting in Spain at all – and he was able to remain neutral throughout the war. So he fulfil his vow in 1945 if I am right. Since some Germans had helped him during his fight against communism, Hitler thought he could force Franco to help him in return, but Franco always refused. When Hitler sent some of his ships in a Spanish harbour, Franco protested and eventually the ships went away – without succeeding in getting Franco to support him. Under his rule, the Spanish had forty years of peace. Note that you had the same for Portugal under Salazar, who had organised the consecration of Portugal to our Lady of Fatima in 1937 by the bishops of Portugal with the complete government in the very first row of the Cathedral: Portugal was untouched by WW2.

Petain in France was a general of World War I; he was an elderly man in 1940 (he was 84) when the French government actually fled from France upon the arrival of the Germans. To flee in front of the enemy is treason¡¦ Before fleeing, they called Petain, who at the time was the French ambassador in Spain, and told him to take care of France. He accepted this VERY difficult task, stopped the bloodshed, not by a capitulation, but by a simple cease fire, and set up a task of ¡°moral recovery¡± – and this is the reason why the ¡°establishment¡± actually hates him. Indeed he outlawed the Freemasons (because of the treason of the government full of them) and the communists (because of the Stalin-Hitler agreement before the war, which caused that the French communists actually refused to fight in 1939, which was treason). They never forgave him for outlawing communists and freemasons... He was not perfect, but he did some good things, for instance the ¡°family allocations¡± (=support given to parents who had children) and many other social laws.

The Church is not allied with this or that government: the Church is above earthly governments: she survives and can even thrive under persecution and sometimes churchmen falls when some governments are too favourable because riches can be occasions of sins. But the Church provides the general guidelines of Justice and Morals to governments, teaching them to give to God the first place ¡°and all these things [temporal prosperity] shall be added unto you¡±. The Church denounces the vices of governments, including the sins of kings: for instance when Bourdaloue, a famous Catholic preacher, was preaching in front of the king and denouncing certain vices of which the king himself was guilty, some courtesans said to the king: ¡°lock him in prison.¡± but the king answered: ¡°he is doing his duty: I wish all my courtesans would do theirs as well as he is doing his.¡± This was the reaction of a Catholic king. But modern anti-God governments use other techniques against the Church, especially LIES (which is typical of the devil, the Father of lies), and blacken the virtues of these kings while doing more sins than they ever did. If you consider all the modern moral perversions, promoted by this ¡°establishment¡±, such as LGBTs, no Catholic king had ever been that far in perversion as to ask a right to offend God in such anti-natural ways.

So we must simply not let ourselves be influences by this ¡°establishment¡±, by these modern perversions, but rather stand up for the truth: first of all and foremost for the supernatural truths of Faith, but also for the truths of history and not the distortions of the ¡°establishment¡±. Voltaire – arch-enemy of the Church – gave the instruction, in a very devilish way: ¡°lie, lie, there will always be something that will stick.¡± We must simply not accept these lies.

Yours sincerely in Jesus and Mary,

Father François Laisney
