Vocation - 3rd Sunday after Easter (2025.5.11)

1) General Vocation

- Each one of us has his own vocation, because we all have a calling from God : the calling to be His child, to be God on earth, then to live with Him in Heaven forever.

- In this great vocation to become sons and daughters of God,

the most important and essential element is this :

man¡¯s free will, our response towards God, made out of our free will

¡¤ Free will is even the very secret of God¡¯s life in Himself, His (supreme & eternal) happiness in Himself

¡¤ In fact, the whole work of Creation is a mere reflection of this secret of God, reflection of the charity of Trinity

    - Therefore, the fundamental law in the created world is this Charity,

and Charity can never be there if there is no free will.

: Total giving of oneself, the gift of self (which is charity) can never be with any coercion, but from free will.

  2) Priestly Vocation

- However, in order to accomplish our vocation to go to Heaven,

there is one thing which is indispensable and absolutetly necessary : the Priesthood

¡¤ The Priesthood is the very center point, core, and the heart of this plan

   - w/o OLJC, no redemption possible, no one can be child of God, no one can go to Heaven

    - Priest : other Christ (Alter Christus)

Our Lord continues and perpetuates His work of redemption through His priests,
and without priests, the work of Redemption cannot continue

- Therefore, priestly vocation is the greatest concern and interest which God has in His mind and Heart.

  3) How He calls you

- In this most important business, the vocation to the priesthood,

(interestingly) God gives us the most freedom to those whom He calls, with His greatest care and delicate consideration:

He never forces, His cares for them are extremely delicate

although He is all-powerful, although He has the right over all the creatures to claim them,

He very much respects our free will, because that is the only way and the only means for accomplishing His plan

- My dear faithful, and especially those who ever considered about vocation,

I would like to ask you to listen well to this sermon and take it into your heart.

It is true that there are many worries and temptations from the world which make it difficult to hear the voice of God, but we know what His voice is, because we are His sheep, as Our Lord says in the Gospel :
¡°I know Mine, and Mine know Me.¡±

Beware of the voice of the Devil :either towards the comfort & pleasure of the world, or towards the idea of vocation as a heavy burdensome task.

- Before I finish this sermon, allow me to say to you this one last point.

Look at the Blessed Sacrament. What do you see?

To our eyes, it seems a piece of bread, but we know by faith that It is God.

How was this bread able to be God?

Of course, by the almighty power of God and by His will to consecrate.

But let us consider on the part of bread itself. How can it be God?

Because, there is nothing in the bread acting against the will of God, against His will to make this bread to become another Himself, (that is,) to become God.

Since bread is an inanimate object, because it doesn¡¯t have any free will, nothing hinders God¡¯s action.

The fact that this bread doesn¡¯t oppose anything to God¡¯s action,

if this simple fact makes the bread to be able to become God,

how much more is it capable of you to be another God, another Jesus Christ, the priest of God?

How God wishes to hear your voice of response to your vocation,

how anxious He is to wait for your choice which is made from your love for God?

During the consecration, He says these words, not only to the bread, not just to wine,

but to you, individually and personally :

¡°This is My Body, This is My Blood.¡±

- To those who considers any vocation, and those who are struggling with it,

please be assured of all the prayers and sacrifices of our Society members for you.

You are not alone in this journey, but we are together.

¡°God is able to raise up the children of Abraham, out of these stones.¡±  (Mt 3:9)

¡°They shall here My voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.¡±  (Jn 10:16)

Amen.
