Who are sons of God?(Genesis 6:4)
There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God have relations with the daughters of men, who bore children to them. There were mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)
Q 1. Who are sons of God?
2. Some scholars call sons of God, giants called nephilim. They were 3~4M tall.
... Then Was Goliath one of descendants of sons of God?
A On Genesis 6:4, the best interpretation that I know of is this: the ¡°sons of God¡± were the descendant of Set, the devout son of Adam and the ancestor of the Messiah; the ¡°daughters of men¡± were descendants of Cain. Giants did not mean 3/4m tall, but probably more around 1m90 / 2m: this is much taller than the average of people then – as it is still today much taller than the average Philippino people¡¦
Goliath lived much later, since he lived after the flood, but Gen. 6:4 refers to a period before the flood. However, the same applies to Goliah as far as how tall he was.
